Bio: Aamir Khan (pronounced [ˈaːmɪr ˈxaːn]; born Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan on 14 March 1965) is an Indian film actor, producer, director, singer, television talk show host, activist, and philanthropist.[1][2] Through his career in Hindi films, Khan has established himself as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema.[3][4] He is the highest-grossing Indian actor at the global box office,[5][6] and has received numerous awards and honours, including four National Film Awards and nine Filmfare Awards; he has received the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan from the Government of India,[7] and has appeared on the Time 100 list.[2] He has been described by Forbes as "arguably the world's biggest movie star",[8][9] and has a significant following across Asia as well as the Indian diaspora.[8]
