Chand is a social drama dealing with the story of a childless couple with Balraj Sahni and Meena Kumari in lead roles. Mr. Kappor (Balraj Sahni) who is a married to Kamla (Pandari Bai) cannot have a child of their own. Kamla wants a child but under duress agrees to have Mr. Kapoor take a second wife and have a child.
