Mythologial story of a King Banasur, who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Banasur grew great and powerful with a boon from Lord Shiva that he could not be defeated by any outside enemy, and conquered the neighboring kingdoms and torturing his Vaishnav subjects and converting them forcibly into Shaivites.
