Sitara Devi

Bio: Sitara Devi (8 November 1920 – 25 November 2014) was an eminent Indian dancer of the classical Kathak style of dancing. Rabindranath Tagore described her as Nritya Samragni ( नृत्य सम्राज्ञी ), meaning the empress of dance, after watching her performance when she was just 16 years old.[2] The epithet continues, and she is still described as the Kathak queen.[3]
