Bio: Amala Akkineni (née Mukherjee) is an Indian film actress, Bharata Natyam dancer, and an animal welfare activist.[2][3] She acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bollywood films. She has won two Filmfare Awards South One for Malayalam ( Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Malayalam – Ulladakkam - 1991)[4] and One for Telugu ( Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu – Life Is Beautiful- 2012) .[2] Amala is the co-founder of The Blue Cross of Hyderabad,[5] a non-government organisation (NGO) in Hyderabad, India, which works towards the welfare of animals and preservation of animal rights in India.[6][7]
