Babu (M.G.R.) is an estate owner and a hunter. He is forever in the forest, hunting animals, much to the annoyance of his mother. He meets Latha (Savitri), lost in the forest. He rescues her, and their friendship blossoms into love and marriage. In due course of time, Latha delivers a boy. The boy, Raja is extremely attached to his father.
