Kishen Lal is the only son of Pandit Lal, a devout & staunch Kanyakubh Hindu Brahman from Bihar. Kishen has left his parents' home and is studying medicine while living in a hostel. It is here he meets Reena Brown, a Christian, and both fall in love. Reena has already suffered a broken-heart when her boyfriend, John Clayton, married Emily and re-located to London. Reena introduces Kishen to her dad, James, who approves and soon the couple start planning to get married through the Regi.
